QUV Accelerated Weathering Tester is fast and economical. Fluorescent UV lamps provide the best simulation of solar UV. However, the QUV lacks the longer wavelengths necessary for testing certain materials.

Model QUV/basic

This is a simplified version of the QUV, for the lab where economy is critical. The QUV/basic has a condensation system for moisture simulation. It does not have water spray.

The QUV/basic compensates for lamp ageing by a simple lamp rotation and replacement system. This involves replacing the two oldest of the QUV’s eight lamps every 400 hours of lamp operation. This results in 1600 hours of useful life for each lamp,

The QUV/basic does not have the Solar Eye Irradiance Control system. Consequently, the light intensity cannot be adjusted or calibrated. Because the QUV/basic cannot compensate for irradiance variability, we recommend that you use it only for comparative exposures where the test specimens and the control specimens are exposed at the same time in the same tester.
