AGREE Chambers were originally defined by the Advisory Group of Reliability of Electronic Equipment to provide a controlled test environment for improving the quality and reliability of military hardware.

Normally an AGREE Chamber consists of a temperature chamber with a floor that is specially fabricated to accommodate a shaker system – either electrodynamic or mechanical – which is inserted under the floor. 

Normally and AGREE Chamber will have a temperature ramp rate which exceeds that of standard temperature chambers – Mostly 10C/Min or above.  For this reason, larger refrigeration compressors are required and therefore these chambers are often water-cooled (to provide cooling of the compressors).  Another method of cooling an LN2 chamber (instead of mechanical refrigeration) is to use LN2 or CO2 (or a combination of both).
